Word of the Day Wednesday

I love the word “maritime”. I think it’s wonderfully romantic and classic. Also, I’ve been dreaming of the water.

For Miles’ birthday we took our camper up to Bellingham and stayed for two nights. I did get some water time in with my family.

Do you see the rock formations in the foreground? I took the paddle board out and climbed all over them. They are incredibly beautiful.

Happy Wednesday friends.❤️

Mother’s Day Recapture

Happy Monday!

First off, I’m sorry I didn’t post Sunday Social yesterday and that I didn’t notify everyone that it wasn’t going to happen. I got very caught up in Mother’s Day.

Second, happy belated Mother’s Day to all of the strong, beautiful, tough mamas out there.

To anyone who felt grief or loss yesterday for your own reasons, my heart goes out to you. I know that while yesterday was a day of celebration it can also be painful for people who have lost their own mother or a child.

Holidays can be rough.

Over here in Washington, we celebrated with my mom and went paddle boarding on the lake.

Have a wonderful week. See you on Wednesday.

Happy FriYAY everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well. This week I’m featuring a few more photos from Miles’ hike. These were also taken off of Highway 2 in Washington State.

Picture Pick FriYAY!: Washington State Highway 2

Good morning friends,

Not much new to report here. I’ve been a little MIA this week. I have to blame HBO’s Westworld for being such an intriguing distraction.

I will be hosting Sunday Social here again this Sunday. (For the record on the Sundays where I know I will be busy IRL, I cancel Sunday Social.) I just want to make sure I can engage with my guests and not just drop a post. I will try to post a cancellation message on the Sundays that I cannot host.

For Picture FriYAY I chose some photos that Miles took on his hike at Steven’s Pass. Most of the images are from the drive up (and down). They were taken on Highway 2.

Have a wonderful weekend, I hope to see you all on Sunday.♥

Picture Pick FriYAY: Snohomish, WA

Good morning readers,

I’m currently typing one-handed while holding Hayden with the other. (Please excuse typos.)

I also caught the cold that I have been dodging for weeks. Seems like everyone has been sick.

Luckily, I can still host a virtual party without serving my germs as a party favor. I hope you can attend Sunday Social this week, even just to “pop in” for a few minutes. I can’t tell you how much fun SS has been for me! If you can’t make it, don’t worry, you can stop by again next week.

The photos featured today were taken in the photogenic farmlands, and river valley of Snohomish, Washington State.

Picture Pick FriYAY: Blue Sky and Powder

Good morning and happy FriYAY!

Today’s pictures are of Miles’ ski adventure with his brother Alex at Steven’s Pass in Washington State.

They hiked uphill with a special material attached to their skis that grips the snow. This form of skiing is called skinning.

Miles has been much more active on his Instagram account. This week his picture was shared on a pretty large Instagram account called The Clymb, so that was exciting for us!

Picture Pick FriYAY: Washington Winter

I hope everyone is having a cozy winter, and you are all recovering from the bustle of the holidays. Does everyone have New Year’s Eve plans? Miles and I are going to enjoy a quiet evening at home with the kids.

I have compiled a few of Miles’ photos that he has taken this winter.

Picture Pick FriYAY: Lowell

Good morning Bloggers and happy Friday! These photos are from around this time two years ago. I was feeling the urge to be creative, so I took a photo walk around an area in Everett called Lowell. I think it’s really cool to see what kind of compositions we can find when we take it slow and look around. Now, having a camera with us all the time (phone) helps us look for photo opportunities all around, but a lot of the time I think we are in too much of a rush to stop and spend a few minutes with a subject that interests us. I am going to slow down and see what my eyes are drawn to this weekend and perhaps you will do the same.
