Hi Friends!

Hi everyone!

I’ve been busy doing some freelance writing for our local newspaper the Everett Herald. I got to write an article for women’s day and I just completed an article for local holiday bazaars.

I’ve been considering getting certified to teach Pilates. I’ve been so happy and dedicated with my daily Pilates, I’m starting to think I should try to make a living with this passion.

How is everyone else doing?

I love reading about everything. I'm not a book snob. Lately I have been "reading" a lot of picture books to my toddler and baby. In my past life before motherhood, I was a professional technical editor and writer.

  1. Hi Rachel! Things have been busy for us, with the new school year getting fully underway; otherwise I am trying to write as much as possible in drafts before 2019 (my year of many new publications) arrives!

That’s great you’ve been able to do some freelance work! It can be hard to come by! I think your Pilates idea is a good one – people are always looking for ways to keep fit, and embracing passions is important!

Hope your family is well! Take care!

  2. That’s a great idea!! I did pilates once, looks way easier than it is! My physiotherapist made me do them. I’ve been great, traveling and writing some stuff which I delete almost immediately. The newspaper sounds great! And I love the pictures, are they yours?

    1. Where are you traveling? We just got back from a trip to Memphis, Tennessee.

The pictures are mine – the first is off a grove of trees in our neighborhood and the second is off of our deck. I just love the fall colors!

      1. Well, there was Edinburgh and a bunch of other small places in Scotland, and then Prague for a month, I love the city. The pictures are beautiful, and the colours are amazing, I WANT TO SEE MORE!!!!

  3. Hi Rach!

I think that’s awesome that you’re looking at teaching Pilates. You could almost have a home studio and kind of do things on your own time. That could really help you balance with the whole full-time mom thing. Freelance writing is fun too. Glad you’re finding things to keep you busy.

As far as me, well, nothing too terribly exciting happening here but I’ve got something fun lined up soon for me (and my blog) and NASCAR playoffs at Texas Motor Speedway in a couple of weeks so that should be fun.

  4. Sounds great you’ve been writing again and “chillaxing”. Do you have the link to the articles / websites you freelanced? Sounds like powerful messages you are trying to deliver. Hope you and your family is all well. 😊

  5. What a lovely pic, Rachel. I don’t know how I miss your posts, but I think it’s more of an issue on my side of the fence than yours! Haw! But I love that picture. Is that a forsythia bush? It is absolutely beautiful.
Pilates! OMG! My wife is into yoga now-a-days. I started out with her, but drifted back to the easy chair. Isn’t that sad. But hey, I’m gonna try to get back into it.
    Great post. Thanks for sharing!
