Weekend Get Away

Hi everyone,

First, I want to thank everyone who participated in Sunday Social. I’ve had the best time meeting new people and catching up with old friends.

I feel very lucky because I got to read your incredible blogs from this amazing cabin in Shelton, Washington with my family.

While I was reading your incredible writing I was also taking in this view.

Here are some more pictures from our trip. We left Sunday and arrived home this afternoon.

Thank you again everyone. It means so much that you shared your beautiful blogs at my virtual party.

I hope to see you all again this Sunday.❤️

I love reading about everything. I'm not a book snob. Lately I have been "reading" a lot of picture books to my toddler and baby. In my past life before motherhood, I was a professional technical editor and writer.

  1. What a view! Wish we had stuff like that in Texas. Instead I’m just here getting ice pellets (not snow – literally rock-hard ice balls). Bleh. LOL!!!!

Definitely a great virtual party; though I might be fashionably late next week depending on how late I sleep next Sunday. Saturday night is our Burns Supper so I’ll be plastered and hung over the next day! Hah.

    1. Hi Lynn! Yikes ice pellets?! 🤭

What is a Burns Supper? Have you already blogged about it and I missed your explanation? I’m sorry if that’s the case. Either way, do tell.

Lastly, always better late than never!

      1. I figured with the part Scottish blood in you you’d be familiar with the Scottish holiday Robert Burns Day, but if you’re not, here you go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burns_supper

My pipe band puts one on most years (we didn’t do one last year because we couldn’t secure a venue but we’re back on track for this year). It’s always a fun time and as a lover of literature you really should try to find one close to you to go to.
